Anthem, the UK’s fastest growing major publisher, has published a Michael Jackson special. In ‘Classic Pop Presents: Michael Jackson’ complimentary reference is made to my Michael Jackson-Chaplin blog by the magazine’s founder and editor-at-large, Ian Peel.
Classic Pop is the UK’s definitive retro-pop magazine. The special sets out to celebrate Michael Jackson’s prolific life in pop. It also pays tribute to artists that inspired Jackson, such as James Brown, Laurence Olivier, and Charlie Chaplin. In reference to the latter, the publication’s welcome page includes the following reference:
“There’s a great blog by Annemarie Latour that looks at how Jackson’s and Chaplin’s life stories overlap. In Tramping With Chaplin she points out how childhood sorrow and pain was a spark of inspiration for clowning, acting and performing for both.”
For those interested, the Classic Pop 132-page collector’s item can be ordered online at Anthem Publishing.
